“I welcome him back. He’s a great driver,” Alonso said during a press conference in Madrid.
“He’s one of the drivers with the biggest talent on the grid, a world champion, a wonderful person… So it’s going to be a pleasure to race alongside him.
“I’m not comparing him with anyone, but it’s not the same to start a race and get to the first corner and have Kimi Raikkonen alongside you than having a young driver or a rookie. Fighting with champions like this gives you a different feeling and more security.”
Christmas Parties, a time to celebr… get absolutely steaming drunk and sing Karaoke. That’s what Mercedes GP did this year, with Nico Rosberg, Michael Schumacher and Ross Brawn all stepping up to the mic.
Unsurprisingly their singing wasn’t that great. And you thought Mark Webber was bad at singing. Videos below.
Seriously, can’t understand why all this Grosjean hate? What he’s done to get so much hate.. I hoped for Kimi & Petrov at Lotus and I like Bruno too (in fact I like both of them more than Grosjean) but can’t bee too upset when they/ Lotus Renault decided to pick Grosjean over Petrov & Senna. He’s not that bad everybody seems to think.
I think he deserves another chance in F1. Grosjean raced in GP2 in 2009 and was fighting for the championship against Hülkenberg and was 2nd in the serie not so many points behind Hülkenberg (Hülk won the championship in 2009) but then Piquet Jr got fired from Renault and Grosjean had to leave GP2 and step into the world of F1 to replace Piquet Jr in the middle of the season 2009.
Ok admit, his visit in F1 wasn’t so great but you can’t deny that for a rookie stepping in in the middle of season without zero testing and to be Alonso’s team mate wouldn’t be an easy job and it’s true that he complained about the car but so did Alonso and Renault really wasn’t so competitive car back then. So it was quite troublesome job for a new driver.
Then he didn’t get a place in F1 for 2010 so he had to figure out something else. He won the Auto GP championship in 2010, returned to GP2 and drove a couple of races in 2010 and won the GP2 Asian championship in winter 2011 and then he drove a full season in GP2 and instantly won the championship in 2011. What for example Petrov and Senna haven’t done, yet.
I will laugh everyone who says Grosjean has no talent or doesn’t deserve a place in F1. You can’t deny he’s a good driver. Obviously everyone is entitled to have their own opinion but that’s how I see it.
I’m really excited to see how he’s going to do in F1 2012 because I think he is really promising driver. :)
